Priorities for 2018
1. Two essential academic components of ASAP Cambodia Chapter are: Faculty and Students. Both components have to develop their objectives and based on the objectives their annual operational plans vis-a-vis ASAP Strategic Plan. These activities would require resources to conduct organization and planning sessions. The outcomes of these sessions would be terms of ASAP Cambodia’s networking, alliance building and partnership schemes, geared towards scaling-up, sustainability and sharing of resources. Taken into account would also advocacy and promotion of ASAP in Cambodia in other universities/other cities in Cambodia.
2. Cambodia is part of the Mekong sub-Region within the ASEAN
community. Poverty should then be contextualized within the
ASEAN framework and an in-depth research should be conducted
by the academics in the ASEAN region to ascertain the so-
called “human face”of poverty in each ASEAN member states.
This is a big challenge for ASAP Global which ASAP Cambodia
can take a facilitating role. Now, one big challenge is
for ASAP Cambodia to conglomerate the academics from ASEAN
member states in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap for development of
ASEAN eradication sustainable strategies and work-plans.
In terms of poverty focused researches, the following are some
of the thematic issues:
3.1. Poverty as Human and Moral Rights Issue (Metaphysical and Epistemological or Oxological research studies)
3.2. Poverty and Gender Development
3.3. Poverty and Migration (Academics from ASAP Cambodia
Chapter have conducted a regional study engaging 4 countries
from ASEAN. Results will be presented in up-coming conference
in Yale).

schemes)
