ASAP UK is looking for 3 volunteers to help with the development of its projects and growth over the coming year. Volunteers can work remotely from anywhere, but preference will be given to UK-based candidates. All volunteers will be invited to meet UK leads and other volunteers on Wednesday, January 22nd. Please e-mail stepheldridge1@gmail.com by 5 pm on Friday, January 17th if you would like to volunteer with ASAP UK, including a short statement as to which volunteer opportunity interests you, your relevant experience, and why you would like to work with ASAP UK. The available volunteer positions are:
- Membership and Engagement Volunteer
- Administrative Volunteer
- Student Chapter Development Volunteer
Membership and Engagement Volunteer
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain ASAP UK\’s membership list
- Update ASAP UK members list with new member information
- Send out e-mails to mailing list to keep members engaged with ASAP UK
- Contribute to the overall work of the UK chapter and help engage new members
- Work with social media team to strategically promote ASAP UK and the ASAP website and across social media forums
- Work with the Administrative Volunteer to ensure that information is communicated effectively across all chapter members
Desired Qualities and Skills:
- Flexible working hours
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
Time Commitment: Minimum 2-3 hours per week, although this may vary depending upon chapter needs.
Administrative Volunteer
Key Responsibilities:
- Help develop a strategic plan for ASAP UK
- Run, chair, and minute board meetings
- Announce meetings and send other messages to all board members
- Draft communication and correspondence to academics, chapter members, and board members
- Work with the Membership and Engagement Volunteer to maintain membership list
- Work with social media team to strategically promote ASAP UK on the website and across social media forums
- Work with the Treasurer on minor financial tasks

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills

Student Chapter Development Volunteer
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with board members to identify universities where a student chapter could be developed
- Coordinate with existing student chapters and provide support
- Coordinate with board members around student chapters and development strategy
- Work with board members to develop more student chapters across the UK
- Work with board members to develop guidelines and strategy for setting up student chapters
- Facilitate the growth of the ASAP UK through student chapters and participation
- Work with the Membership and Engagement Volunteer to ensure chapter information is up-to-date
- Work with the Administrative Volunteer to coordinate communications with board members
- Work with the social media team to ensure that student chapters and their activity are positively promoted across ASAP UK and ASAP Global
